Gran Paradiso (4061m)

Mountaineering
This important mountain offers its most variegated face from the Valsavarenche approach. Its steep NW face flanked by glaciers of fairly gentle inclination which reach the summit by easy- ascending routes. The Gran Paradiso is the highest mountain of the Graian Alps and it is the only fully Italian 4,000mt peak.
High points:
- 2 days in the foremost Italian National Park
- An ascent to one of the most isolated 4000m peaks with no ski facilities.
- Cosy refuges and excellent cuisine in true Italian tradition.

Programme:
Day 1
Meet up in Pont Valsavarenche at 2pm and ascent to the Chabot or Vittorio Emanuele II Refuge.
TM: 2 / 3 h
Day 2
Ascent to the peak and return to the valley.
TM 6 /7 h

Requested technical level: there are no technical difficulties but some trekking training is required.

The programme is subject to modification or interruption at the discretion of the Alpine Guide if participants’ technical abilities prove inadequate or adverse weather conditions occur.

Cost: € 150 each (group of 4 persons per Guide)
        €  600 private formula (Guide plus client)

Fee includes:
Alpine Guide assistance, group materials.

Fee does not include:
Refuge full board and any item not specified in “Fee includes”.
The Guide’s full board expenses are debited to participants.
If itinerary changes occur which are not attributable to the organisers (e.g. bad weather, inadequate technical ability of participants, etc.) any extra costs incurred will be debited to participants.

Enrolment deadline: The Gran Paradiso Refuge reservation has to be made well in advance.
Enrolments are accepted on a non-refundable 30% down payment of total cost. The balance must be paid before the beginning of activities.

a) in front of the camping in Pont Valsavarenche
b) on request in front of the Courmayeur Tourism Office in Piazzale Monte Bianco at am
c) on request in front of Chamonix Railway Station at am

Return scheduled:
a) Pont around 3 pm
b) on request
